Virtual Member Meeting: Built to Be Backed: What Makes a Healthcare Company Investable

The latest VMM explored a question central to the current investment environment – what makes a healthcare company truly investable in emerging markets?

Lily Chhatwal opened the session discussing the three forces shaping the current landscape: the structural shift of care beyond the hospital, AI's growing role in extending specialist expertise into resource-constrained settings, and continued growth in private capital flows into the sector.

The heart of the session then featured three investor-investee pairs, each walking the audience through what drew them together, what the investor underwrote, and what the path to scale looks like.

Speakers include:

  • Eugene Huang, abcIMPACT & Karen Chu, HiRO - Harvest Integrated Research Organization

  • Curt Laird, reFrontier Group & Faith Okwisa Okwayo, Afyanalytics

  • Rahul Agarwal, HealthQuad & Hari Subramaniam, Lifesigns
